- Upholding intellectual freedom, autonomy, and freedom of expression and research through a unified and comprehensive privacy program focused on risks to the individual, the university, and society;
- Promoting stewardship, ethical standards, and integrity related to personal data handled by campus;
- Committing to the privacy values of transparency and individual choice;
- Enabling the discovery and appropriate use of personal data for legitimate business and research purposes;
- Drafting and maintaining privacy policies and procedures;
- Advocating for privacy-enhancing technology, processes, and practices;
- Assisting campus with various initiatives such as open access to research data, data quality, vendor management, and electronic communications; and
- Raising awareness about autonomy and information privacy and related laws and regulations
